PDA Will Most Definitely Keep the Doctor Away

We all love kissing, whether we show it or not. Kissing can be like a sport for some, maybe even a hobby; but for many more, it’s a way to show our affection to a special someone. Whatever the case may be, kissing can have negative effects on the people around us. Mostly emotional consequences including jealousy or possibly hate. For others, it might be a sign of hope that one day that could be you. Basically in a nutshell, kissing has negatives and positives on the people around you. And what about you? Luckily, kissing does have its benefits.

Kissing promotes great oral health and hygiene. It reduces disgusting things like plaque, gingivitis, and tooth decay. Hopefully, the person you’re kissing has none of these. If that person has none, well then they wreak the benefits tooth germ prevention. Saliva actually provides natural and powerful proteins and bacteria that act as antibiotics for the immune system. When you swap saliva with someone through kissing, you are actually swapping healthy antibodies with them. Teachers and Parents should be proud we are maintaining a healthy life-style through kissing! I don’t see why kissing should be placed under the category PDA when it can be placed under the category PDH, Public Display of Healthiness. Why do you think animals lick their wounds and cuts? It is because they are supplying antibodies directly to the openings

Not only does it help with our exterior bodies and immune system, it also relaxes us and lowers our blood pressure. It prevents stressful hormones which we all deplore. Kissing has also been shown to burn calories, about 1 per minute, probably more. Next time you get the hiccups, call up your lover and get to some kissing since some studies have actually showed it can stop the hiccups. This is probably due to the relaxed body. Kissing seems like a life-saver.

Ever wonder why you scientifically feel the way you do when you’re kissing? Probably not since you’re too busy going at it with your special person. It is interesting though, how it all works. Kissing sends signals to the brain which in turn produces oxytocin, a.k.a, the warm and fuzzy feeling you get. Also, the smiling position of the lips enables the brain to feel happiness and joy, which may already be felt. Has your heart ever raced as you were with that person you dearly loved? Closing your eyes and breathing deeply yet calmly enables you to hear your heart and blood pumping through your veins. This is followed by a release in adrenaline which anyone would love at that time. In fact, there is a direct correlation between kissing and the amount of endorphins we produce. The more intense and passionate the kissing, the more endorphins are released, therefore making us feel good.

Kissing isn’t just a way to mess around or make ourselves happy with someone; it’s also a way to make our bodies healthier. It helps our body, our teeth, and our mind. Maybe PDA in school isn’t even a bad thing; it’s something good for us that can make us both happier and healthier at the same time. So don’t be afraid or guilty of enjoying a kiss, it’s good for the both of you. Kiss away!

  1. I totally agree with you that kissing should be PDH, however some couples just take it too far with kissing in the hallway. What I'm saying is, kissing should be acceptable in school if it's just a quick or suddle connection to the lips but once you're spreading saliva all over the corners of someones mouth then it becomes PDA.
