Eric's Food Analysis

For my food analysis, I chose Nutella, Hellmann’s Mayonnaise, and General Mill's Cheerios. Out of the three foods, Mayo had the least amount of calories (60), but had the most cholesterol (5mg). Nutella had the highest amount of calories (200), but had 0mg of cholesterol. I say that Cheerios is the healthiest out of the three, because it has 110 calories, 2 grams of fat, 0 cholesterol, and 21 grams of carbohydrates. Also, its main ingredient is whole grain oats. Nutella is probably the second healthiest, and than Mayo. Mayo has 5mg of cholesterol and 120mg of sodium.

The serving size for Nutella is 2 tbsp. I think people take more than this, so it isn’t a reasonable size. Mayo’s is 1 tbsp., and Cheerios’ is 1 cup. I believe these are reasonable sizes. There may be nutritional value in these foods, but if you take too much, than it is not good. These foods also contain claims, such as cheerios that says eating it will help prevent heart disease. This is true, because of the whole grain oats. If you want to know more, visit choosemyplate.gov.
