Why do we stop growing at a certain age ?T

Why do we stop growing after a certain age? That is a question that is frequently to me. I have always wondered why we stop growing after a certain age and I would always say that it was because we just are done growing. I have also heard that most people stop growing after they hit their growth spurt. But that is always not true. Human beings often grow most in there teen age years because they are eating a lot more foods and things that are helping your bodies. The growth of the body really comes from the protein that humans eat every day. The proteins in the food at we are eating the amino acids in the food are getting broken down. With the protein producing in from the foods we eat, they are helping our muscle, tissues and bones.

Did you know that the growth of our body is controlled by the glands that we have. The actual names for the glands are called endocrine glands. There are many different kinds of endocrine glands as well. Some of the glands that are used are pituitary gland, thyroid gland, thymus gland and some sex glands. The pituitary gland is used to control the brain and the growth of bones. Also the thyroid gland is found in the throat. The glands in our body control all of the growth in our body. So the body grows as the glands grow basically. The glands work harder and harder as the body develops. The reason that you grow a lot when you are your teen age years is because the glands are working there hardest. Once the glands in our body stop working they we stop growing all together. They stop working after about the age of 24 because in our teen age years they were working so hard to develop our bodies that they can’t work at the same pace a because in our teen age years they were working so hard to develop our bodies that they can’t work at the same pace anymore. Did you ever know that the gland in our body work hard in our teenage year ? I never knew that they work the hard anyway. To me it seems as though that the glands in your body controls all the growth .

  1. Interesting. My aunt always told me I had 2 years to grow, but I sort of assumed it was always a myth, yet again. I haven't grown much.

Do you know why girls and guys hit puberty at a different age?

  2. do you think that, since these glands are what control growth, there are factors that would result in the glands working for longer periods of time, or easing the amount of work they do during the teenage years?
