I did research on three products. Those products
were chewy choc. Chip granola bar made my Quakers, normal goldfish made by Pepperidge,
and oats 'n Honey (crunchy) made by Nature Valley. For Quakers the serving size
is 1 bar, with 100 calories, 3g of fat, 1g of saturated fat, 0mg of
cholesterol, 75mg of sodium, 17g of carbohydrates, 1g of dietary Fiber, 1g of protein,
and also contains calcium and Iron. This product has the least amount of
calories and grams of fat. The normal
goldfish the serving size is 55 pieces, with 150 calories, 6g of fat, 5g of saturated
fat, 0mg of cholesterol, 230mg of sodium, 20g of carbohydrates, less than 1g of
Dietary fiber, and 3g of protein. It has all the nutrients calcium, Iron,
Vitamin, Vitamin C. The last product I did research on is oats ‘n honey
(crunchy) nature valley. This serving size is 2 bars, but it has also has the
serving size of (one depending on your preference). So I decide to base my info
on 1 bar so it’s closer to the rest of the products. So it has 95 total calories, 3g of
fat, 0g of saturated fat, 0mg of cholesterol, 80mg of sodium, 1g of dietary
fiber, 2g of protein, and it has iron.
All of the serving sizes seem realistic, but the goldfish.
The reason I say that cause u don’t just 55 pieces out of the bag, you just
keep taking the goldfish out of the bag till you are not hungry anymore. So
when it says 55 pieces I don’t agree with that serving size. The serving sizes
are rather close except the goldfish because it’s in pieces. The bigger the
serving size the worst it will look, but the smaller it is it will look like it
is good for you. The claims goldfish has is that it has not artificial preservatives
and it has 0g of trans fat, and so right there the only claims I read were
about good things not bad things. My calculations did not contradict the
products claims. The order of the product does not have any effect on they
products nutritional content. I have concluded that Quakers is the worst food
to eat out of my products. I say this because the goldfish has all the nutrients
and the nature valley if you put it as the same serving size the nature valley
is better. I also concluded that company’s try to put the littlest serving size
possible so that they can look better for you.
